Dancehall star Shatta Wale’s highly anticipated Shatta Fest UK concert has been cancelled after management confirmed reports of injuries and alleged deaths outside the venue.
In a statement signed by the Management of Shatta Wale and the Shatta Movement Empire, organisers said the decision was taken to prioritize the “safety and well-being of every single person who came to celebrate music, unity, and love.”
“It is with a very heavy heart that we address the unfortunate events surrounding SHATTAFEST UK,” the statement read.
The team said they are “deeply saddened by the reports of injuries and the alleged loss of lives” linked to the incident.
While awaiting official confirmation from authorities, management stated that their “thoughts and prayers remain with the individuals involved, their families, their friends, and everyone impacted by this heartbreaking incident.”
The statement did not provide specific details about the nature of the incident, where exactly it occurred, or the number of people affected.
Management described it as “truly devastating” for a night meant for celebration to “become a moment of pain,” adding that Shatta Wale has “always stood for the people.”
“This is not the outcome anyone wished for. Today, our focus is not on a concert — it is on the people whose lives have been affected,” the statement said.
The Shatta Movement also thanked emergency services, security personnel, medical teams, and venue staff who “responded swiftly to assist those in need,” and expressed gratitude to fans who “travelled from near and far” for their support and understanding.
The team urged the public and media to “avoid speculation” while investigations are ongoing. “Shatta Wale and the entire Shatta Movement family remain committed to cooperating fully with the relevant authorities and event partners as they work to understand exactly what happened,” it added.
The statement ended with a prayer for comfort for grieving families and strength for those recovering.
