Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA), Professor Ransford Gyampo, has called for an end to “prosecutorial incompetence”, saying it is crippling Ghana’s fight against corruption.
In a Facebook post, Prof. Gyampo said the recent judgement of the Appeals Court lays bare “tremendous flaws” in the justice delivery system and should force the country to prioritize law over public sentiment.
“The judgement of the Appeals Court speaks to tremendous flaws that should pale emotional sentiments. In a liberal state, optics can’t transcend rules and rights,” he wrote.
He argued that winning the anti-corruption fight requires competence, not just outrage.
“The proper fight against corruption should be intolerant of prosecutorial incompetence,” he added.
Prof. Gyampo’s comments have since sparked wide discussion online, with many users debating the need for stronger legal processes to secure convictions in corruption cases.
