The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has pledged US$250,000.00, about GHS3.00 million, to support victims of the recent devastating floods in Ghana.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the commitment in a press statement issued on Sunday, August 2, 2026, saying it was notified by ECOWAS of the decision “in the spirit of transparency and, accountability.”
The Ministry said it will hand over the entire funds to the appropriate authorities as soon as it is received in government accounts.
“The Government of Ghana conveys boundless appreciation to ECOWAS for their solidarity and true African compassion,” the statement added.
The announcement comes as government and humanitarian agencies continue relief efforts for communities affected by the recent floods across the country.
