Women’s CL finals: We are winning the title, there’s no turning back- Hasaacas Ladies warns opponents

Ahead of the maiden edition of the 2021 Total Energy CAF Women’s Champions League finals, Ghanaian champions, Hasaacas Ladies have sent a strong warning to their opponents, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.

Head coach, Yusif Basigi believes that his team is capable of winning the inaugural Africa Women’s Champions League.

The game will be played today, November, 19, 2021 at the 30th-June stadium in Cairo at 17:00GMT.

Having already won the West African Zone B women’s champions league this year, the technical trainer said they are living no stone unturned to write their name in the history book of Women’s football on the continent.

Speaking ahead of today’s clash, Yussif Basigi, said that his ladies have more to give after their 2-1 win over AS FAR of Morocco in the semi-finals.

“We are coming to win the title and there’s no turning back,” he declared.

“I have faith in my goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and attackers. You will see more variations of how the team plays” he confidently stated.

Meanwhile, Coach of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, Jerry Tshabalala has also announced that his team is prepared to face Hasaacas Ladies.

“My team has shown that whenever we face a good side, we perform even better.

“We wanted to be here [in the final], and we did it. I’m very excited for the final game. We are ready to take the title to South Africa,” he bragged.

Hasaacas Ladies defeated ASFAR of Morocco by 2-1 en route to the finals whilst Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies won 5-4 on penalties against Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea.

Three wins and a draw have guided Hasaacas Ladies to the final, where they scored 10 goals and conceded 4. Scoring a minimum of over 1.5 goals in each game, they would need another victory to be crowned as African Champions.

Evelyn Badu has scored 5 goals in the tournament as the top scorer.

A win and two draws with a penalty shootout win has led the Mamelodi Sundowns to the final. They scored 2 goals and kept four clean sheets.

In the meantime, CAF has appointed 41-year old Ethiopian referee, Lidya Tafesse Abede, to handle the game.

She will be assisted on the lines by Queency Clodia Victorie (Mauritius), Mimisen Agatha Iyorhe (Nigeria), Shahenda Saad Saad Ali Elmaghrabi (Egypt) and one more official.

Uganda’s Aisha Nalule will be the Match Commissioner while Tempa N’dah Francois from Benin also serve as the Referee Assessor.
