MTN FA Cup champions, Nations FC, paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to receive royal blessings ahead of their maiden CAF Confederation Cup campaign
Founder and bankroller Dr Kwame Kyei led the club’s playing body and technical team during the fifth Akwasidae Festival durbar held at the Manhyia Palace on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
The purpose of the visit was to formally present the FA Cup trophy to His Majesty and also seek his blessings before their upcoming continental assignment.
“We are here to take his blessings to face the continental clubs,” Abrankese Nyameanihene, Nana Opoku Amponsem, stated
The Asantehene warmly received Nations FC’s delegation, commended their historic feat and urged them to go all out and make Ghana proud in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Nations FC booked their ticket to Africa after lifting the 2026 MTN FA Cup, marking the first time in the club’s history that they will compete in a CAF inter-club competition.
