A mental health ambassador and media personality, Abena Korkor says she no longer battles unnecessary relapses.

Abena made this revelation on Thursday’s edition of Angel FM’s Y’adwuma nie show called “A day as a presenter”.

In demonstrating her presenting skills, Abena played Chris Brown’s “Hold me down”, a song which she said was the background music in her video that turned the country upside down in 2015.

However, commenting on the improvements she has seen over the period on her health, she said “whenever I listen to this song I am encouraged that I no longer have unnecessary relapses”.

The self acclaimed plus size model came to the lime light in 2015 at the time she was contesting for SRC president at the University of Cape-coast.

It was the period when her video displaying sensitive body parts went viral on social media.

She later blamed the act on bipolar and become a mental health advocate.

In spite of being a mental health advocate, her continuous display of her body on social media did not change. It rather became rampant accounting for her dismissal at TV3 where she cohosted the programme “Ladies Circles”.

The mental health advocate had made a tall list of media personalities and political figures including Lexis Bill, Giovanni Caleb, John Boadu, Kojo Yankson among others, whom she accused of taking advantage of her mental condition and going to bed with her.

Other female personalities such as Lydia Forson, Nana Aba Asamoah and her mentee Serwaa Amihere also had a fair share of the cake, calling them out for sleeping with some “big men”.

However, on an entertainment programme called United Showbiz by Utv, she rendered an unqualified apology to the ace broadcast journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah, and all other victims whom she drugged through the mud.

She revealed that she only put these noble people through public ridicule due to her low moments as a mental health patient.

Abena promised on the the show that she was going to take her mental health serious and take her medications well to avoid similar incidence in the future.

On the show Yedwuma nie as a presenter, Abena korkor took the opportunity to advice her listeners on the need to have their mental health checked.

She said: “take a break from mental stress and exercise such as dancing, yoga, skipping to help mental distress.”

The all happy and bubbling Korkor urged people to leave the past in the past, be happy and confident in their bodies as she twisted and winded her waist in a dance to “hold me down” her favorite.

She added “when I listen to this song today I smile and I’m joyful like the way I was and joyful at that time.”
