Gospel musician, Obaapa Christy, has announced the 2026 edition of her annual gospel event, ‘Royal Praise’, which promises an unforgettable experience of worship, praise, and cultural celebration.
The announcement was made during her appearance on Angel FM’s Y’adwumanie show, following the successful media launch of the event.
The event, christened ‘Royal Praise 2026: Where Royalty Meets Worship, Culture Meets Praise and Heaven Meets Earth,” the programme is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the UPSA Auditorium in Accra, with proceedings beginning at 4:00 PM prompt.
The event will feature performances from some of Ghana’s leading gospel ministers, including Empress Gifty, Joyce Blessing, Celestine Donkor, Akesse Brempong, Uncle Ato, and Kwaku Gyasi.
According to Obaapa Christy, the gathering is aimed at bringing believers together to glorify God while celebrating Ghana’s rich cultural heritage through music, worship, and traditional attire.
“For the first time, we are calling on believers across Ghana and beyond to celebrate our rich heritage through our cultural apparel as we gather in one accord to usher in the presence of the Holy Spirit in a unique and glorious atmosphere,” she said.
She encouraged attendees to come dressed in royal and cultural outfits as part of a special celebration of faith and identity.

She added that the event will highlight the beauty of culture and spirituality, with every colour and fabric representing a story of faith and heritage.
“Let every cloth tell a story of faith, every colour reflect our heritage, and every praise ascend as a royal offering before the throne of God,” she stated.
With a blend of gospel music, culture, and worship, the ‘Royal Praise 2026’ is expected to attract worshippers from across Ghana and beyond for a memorable spiritual experience.
