Five suspected armed robbers have been apprehended at Buipe in the Savannah Region following a robbery in Tamale.
The five suspects according to the police snatched a Toyota Camry salon car from its owner at a residential area in Tamale in the Northern Region.

Five suspected armed robbers have been arrested at Buipe in the Savannah Region following a robbery in Tamale. The five robbery suspects snatched a Toyota Camry salon car from its owner at a residential area in Tamale

The robbers were given a hot chase by the Police after they managed to bolt with the vehicle.
Further details from the police said that “on 23/01/2022 upon information received from RCID/Tamale to the effect that some people attacked and robbed someone in Tamale of his Toyata Camery Vehicle and other items and fled towards Buipe direction, the Buipe highway patrol team on duty at Sawaba Police checkpoint on Buipe – Tamale highway intercepted and arrested occupants of two vehicles with registration number AS8445-19 and GX6923-20 in connection with the crime and brought same to Buipe Police Station with the following suspects on board”.
The names of the suspects ere given as follows;
1.Ibrahim Issah aged 27, Contractor/Accra
2. Mohammed Mustapha in military uniform, aged 23, Burma camp DI
3. Vivor Christopher aged 27 phones repairer
4. Benyamin Ajyei aged 23 mobile money vendor, Accra
5. Seyram Addo aged 29, Plumber, Danfa/ Madina
After a thorough search of the suspects, the police were able to retrieve a G3 Riffle and a pistol.
Other items found on them included 13 assorted mobile phones, one Falcon Foreign Pistol loaded with 9mm ammunition, a wallet containing a bunch of keys together with two handcuff keys, two Voter’s ID Cards, Melcom card, Access Bank card and the sum of GHC21.20p”.
“Some Military uniforms, Police Ballistic helmet and police uniforms were also found in the Toyota Camry Spider with registration number GX6923-20. The items were retained while the suspects were detained”.
“Meanwhile, on the instructions of the Northern Regional Police Commander, Compol/Mr.Timothy Bonga, the suspects together with the exhibits were handed over to the men and they escorted them to Regional Headquarters, Tamale where the incident occurred”.
