The Chief of Akyem Asuom in the Eastern Region, Osabarima Ofosuhene Apenteng II has disassociated himself and the Traditional Council from statements by Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III.

Nana Abodade II purported to be the Krontihene of Asuom has been in the news for the past 24 hours over statements against President Akufo-Addo, Second Lady Samira Bawumia among others.

However, Osabarima Apenteng II has said that the former is no longer recognized by the Traditional Council.

In an interview on Accra-based Adom FM the chief revealed that he was destooled on August 19, 2024.

“He was enstooled last year but within two months, he rebelled against me and there were other allegations about him impregnating his relative. As of now, we have no Krontihene but he keeps parading himself around,” he stated.

Osabarima Ofosuhene added that, Kwasi always seeks to create trouble with his acts to bring disgrace to the people of Asuom.

“Asuom is the second in command to Adansihene in Kukurantumi so it is not right for us to misconduct ourselves in such a manner.

“I will therefore appeal to Ghanaians that everything he said does not represent the views of Asuom and must be disregarded,” he admonished.
