“Fellow Ghanaians, as a French would say, l’Argent n’aime pas le bruit, to wit, money does not like noise, sika mmpɛ dede. Where there is chaos, where there is noise, where there is unrest, you will not find money. If you talk down your money, it will go down. If you allow some unidentifiable person to talk down your money, it will go down,” President Akufo-Addo said in his address.

He made the statement while speaking on the state of the economy and measures taken to salvage the situation as talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) continue.

Efia odo who has been vibrant in critisizing the government in its administration described the president’s assertion of “money does not like noise” as insult to Ghanaians.

“He’s calling us noise makers so we  should shut up and suffer. The president disregards our emotional distress each and everyday. Our complaints and frustration is noisy. Coming to tell us sika mp3 dede is an insult to us,” she noted.

According to the actress, although the president is claiming money does not like noise, he is the real definition of “dede” which translates noise.

“Sika mp3 dede but you are the dede. Akufo-Addo please come again and say something of substance.”

It’s no secret to Citizens that over-importation is killing us. Time to act NOW. Let’s eat what we grow and grow what you eat and everything will #beAlright.”
