Mahama Pledges To Prioritize Completion and Rehabilitation of Kasoa-Winneba Road

President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to prioritize the completion and rehabilitation of the Kasoa-Winneba road and other key road networks in the region.

During his Thank You Tour in the Central Region on 6th February, 2025, President Mahama emphasized the urgent need for improved infrastructure to enhance transportation, boost economic activities, and ensure the safety of road users.

He stated that late last year, the contract for the first phase of the dualization of the Kasoa-Winneba road commenced, adding that upon completion, the project will facilitate the movement of goods and services and enhance trade.

“Late last year, the contract of the face phase of the dualization of the Kasoa-Winneba road started, upon completion this project will facilitate the movement of goods and service and enhance trade.”

The president further assured the people of the Central Region that the second phase of the road construction will extend from the Winneba Roundabout to the Mankessim Roundabout, while the third phase will cover the stretch from Mankessim Roundabout to Cape Coast.

“The second phase of this project will be from Winneba Roundabout to Mankessim roundabout and the Third phase will be from the Mankessim roundabout to Cape Coast”

He added that while phase one is ongoing, phases two and three will be packaged and funded under their Big Push program.

“While phase one is ongoing, phase two and phase three will be packaged and funded under our Big Push program”

President Mahama also revealed that he has instructed the Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry to provide a status update on the Komenda Sugar Factory.

He promised to continue the project so that the Central Region becomes the biggest producer of sugar in Ghana.

“I’ve asked the Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry to provide me with a status update of the Komenda Sugar Factory. We are determined to proceed and continue with that project so that the central Region will become the biggest producer of sugar in Ghana”.

Additionally, he assured the people of the Central Region that his administration will work closely to upgrade the facilities at the Cape Coast Hospital, transforming it into a Teaching Hospital for the University of Cape Coast Medical School.

“We will also work closely to upgrade the facilities at the Cape Coast Hospital so that they can indeed be a real Teaching Hospital for the University of Cape Cost Medical School”
