The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has expressed deep concerns about the vulnerability of Ghana’s youth to fraudulent activities.
In an interview on the Angel Morning Show with Saddick Adams, he emphasised the urgent need for collective action to tackle this pressing issue.
Mr. Acquah further explained that he plans to collaborate with Angel TV to make a statement on the floor of Parliament, which will be submitted at the next sitting to bring national attention to the matter.
“As a member of parliament, and the good thoughts that I have for youth and their development, I want to partner you to do this QNET advocacy,” he said.
He also proposed using parliamentary questions to hold the Minister for Foreign Affairs and other relevant ministries accountable for addressing the issue.
“Again, we can use that to set parliamentary questions for the minister for foreign affairs and the relevant ministries so they can come and answer some questions, and this will draw attention to what we’re doing,” he suggested.
Moreover, Mr. Acquah pointedly accused politicians of failing to provide opportunities for young people to thrive, thereby leaving them vulnerable to fraudulent acts.
