Presidential Aide and member of the government’s communications team, Dr. Sammy Ayeh, has highlighted President John Mahama’s “No fee stress policy”, describing it as a beneficiary-focused policy designed to guarantee relief and meaningful support for students in tertiary institutions.

He disclosed that more than 10,000 first-year tertiary students have benefited from the policy since its introduction by the President.

“So far, the NDC has made essential spending of funds which have been directed to the right party. With the allocation of GH¢ 3.5billion Free SHS Policy is still functioning effectively. Under the No Fee Stress Policy, 150,000 first-year tertiary students have benefited from it,” he pointed out.

Mr. Ayeh stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), through the Ministry of Finance, has prioritized essential spending, explaining that funds have been directed to ensure the education sector is being effectively sustained.

He further emphasized that Ghanaians’ primary concern is improving their daily quality of life; however, matters related to potential misappropriation of state funds by government appointees receive less of their attention.

“If Ghanaians have a good standard of living and the prices of goods and services are reduced, their attention would not be on politicians buying expensive cars,” he clarified in an interview on Angel TV on Monday, December 1, 2025.
