The Ghana Education Service (GES) has strongly condemned the assault of Mr. Michael Quayson, a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School, by some past students during the 2025 WASSCE examination period.

In a press release dated December 10, 2025, the GES described the incident, captured in a widely circulated video on social media as “unacceptable, unlawful, and a direct affront to the dignity of the teaching profession.”

The attack reportedly occurred on October 5, 2025, while Mr. Quayson was invigilating the Christian Religious Studies paper.

According to preliminary reports from the GES, the teacher was allegedly targeted for being strict during the examination.

The statement added that the matter was not formally reported to school authorities or the GES until the video surfaced online.

The GES emphasized that students involved in the assault would face appropriate legal and regulatory sanctions.

“The students shall face the appropriate sanctions provided by law and GES regulations to ensure justice is duly served,” the statement said.
