Leader of the Union Government (UG), Akwasi Addae Odike has expressed his concerns regarding the voter turnout at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) headquarters.

Analyzing the results of the NPP’s presidential primary on Angel FM’s “Election Eye” on Saturday, January 31, 2026, he noted that out of 987 registered attendees, only 480 voted – with one spoilt ballot – while 507 chose not to vote.

This represents a 44% turnout, which he described as “dangerous” for the NPP.Akwasi Adai Odike

Odike emphasized that the headquarters was designed for formal appointees, diasporians, and individuals in good standing within the party.

He noted that even President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo did not vote at the headquarters, which he labeled as troubling.

He further supported Frimpong Boateng’s assertion that many party leaders have become disengaged, adding that the party is divided into two factions, those who actively participate and those who remain bystanders.

“This confirms Frimpong Boaten’s words that lot of the party leaders have become visual members, the party is divided into two parts, those who make noise and those who sit on the bench,” he stated.
