Portuguese trainer Carlos Queiroz has officially been unveiled as the new head coach of the Black Stars to start preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
The unveiling ceremony of the experienced Portuguese tactician took place on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
The event attracted stakeholders from the football community, supporter unions, the media, and others.
Queiroz expressed gratitude to the Football Association and the nation for the trust and honor in appointing him as coach, and he expressed his readiness for the role.
The former coach of South Africa, Egypt, and Colombia takes over from Otto Addo. His first tasks include the double-header friendlies against Wales and Mexico before the World Cup.
His Black Stars team will face Panama on June 17, England on June 23, and Croatia on June 27 during the tournament.
