Vice President arrives in Barcelona for global meeting on democracy

Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has arrived in Barcelona ahead of the 4th High-Level meeting of the “In Defense of Democracy Initiative” scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Upon arrival, she was warmly received by members of the Ghanaian community, led by Ghana’s Ambassador to Spain, H.E. Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe.

The Ambassador provided a briefing on the preparations made ahead of the visit and outlined the programme, including key engagements scheduled during the meeting.

The visit is expected to focus on productive deliberations with global leaders, aimed at strengthening democratic governance and promoting shared values among participating nations.
