Ghanaian journalist Saddick Adams has warned that if the new Black Stars head coach, Carlos Queiroz, fails in his role, those who appointed him must be held accountable.
In a Facebook post, he emphasized that expectations are high for Queiroz, who has been tasked with leading Ghana to the World Cup.
“This time when it fails spectacularly as it has been in recent times, touchwood, someone above him must pay for it,” Adams said, stressing the need for accountability.
The journalist’s comments come after Queiroz’s appointment as the Black Stars head coach, a decision that has received mixed reactions.
Mr. Adams noted that Queiroz has struck the right tone so far, focusing on discipline, cohesion, and merit-based selection.
However, he believes that those who appointed him should be prepared to face the music if results don’t improve, considering the $100,000 salary he’s getting.
“Ghana is not in a crisis, but rather needs to maximize its available talent,” Adams said.
He added: “It is about forging a team that is organized, disciplined, and united in purpose.”
With Queiroz’s experience and high expectations, Mr. Adams insists that accountability starts from the top.
