Chief of Staff, Dr. Julius Debrah, has called on businesses, investors, development partners, and other stakeholders in the shea sector to join the Global Shea Alliance to help expand Ghana’s shea industry and unlock its economic potential.
Speaking during a Shea Month commemoration event at the Jubilee House, where he planted a shea tree on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, Dr. Debrah said stronger collaboration among stakeholders is essential to transforming the sector.
He urged industry players to “join the Global Shea Alliance and work together to protect, promote, and expand the shea industry for the benefit of our communities, particularly women whose livelihoods depend on it.”
Dr. Debrah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the growth of the shea industry through targeted interventions.
“As we commemorate Shea Month, I reaffirm the Government’s resolve to support the growth of the sector through strategic partnerships, value addition, and increased investment across the shea value chain,” he stated.
According to the Chief of Staff, the government’s vision is to make Ghana a leading player in the global shea market while creating jobs and improving livelihoods.
“Together, we can position Ghana as a leading force in the global shea economy while creating sustainable jobs, driving inclusive growth, and improving livelihoods,” Dr. Debrah said.
