Tarkwa Nsuaem NPP allegedly disqualifies over 800 polling station aspirants

The Tarkwa Nsuaem branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has allegedly disqualified more than 800 polling station aspirants as part of its ongoing internal processes ahead of the next phase of the reorganization exercise.

The development, which has raised concerns among party members, has reportedly plunged the constituency into tensions and agitations.

Following this, the Constituency Executives have petitioned the party’s national leadership over the mass disqualification of aspirants, urging immediate action to address the situation.

In their petition to both regional and national party leadership, the aggrieved executives warned that failure to resolve the matter could breed disunity within the party.

They further cautioned that such disunity could weaken the NPP’s chances heading into the 2028 elections.

Speaking in an interview, the executives insisted that every aspirant deserves a fair opportunity to contest, and that disqualification should only occur where there is clear evidence of a breach of party rules.

They are also calling for a review of the vetting process to ensure that party regulations are applied consistently, with fairness and transparency.
