Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) has announced a 24-hour shutdown of the Dodowa Booster Station to allow engineers to undertake planned maintenance works aimed at improving water supply.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, GWL said the shutdown will start from Thursday, 9th July 2026 and last for 24 hours.

According to the company, the exercise is to improve the operational efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the water supply system.

As a result, customers in communities served by the Dodowa Booster Station will experience temporary interruption of water supply or reduced water pressure throughout the period.

The affected areas include East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, Dodowa, and all adjoining communities.

“Customers are kindly advised to store sufficient water ahead of the planned shutdown and use the available supply judiciously throughout the maintenance period,” the statement said.

GWL assured the public that engineers will work to complete the maintenance within the scheduled timeframe and restore normal water supply immediately after.
