Award-winning gospel artiste, Selina Boateng, has revealed that she is open to collaborating with dancehall star Shatta Wale, insisting that her greatest mission is to use music as a tool to bring people to Christ.
The celebrated singer said she has no objection to recording songs with secular musicians as long as the project honours God and encourages listeners to embrace the Christian faith.
During a recent interview on July 16, 2026, Selina Boateng explained that every collaboration is carefully considered together with her management team before any decision is made.
“I work closely with my management, so we discuss every collaboration. If the timing is right and it’s an opportunity to spread the word of God through music, then why not? Shatta Wale has a large secular fan base, and that’s exactly why such a collaboration could help reach people with the gospel,” she said
She further indicated that her ministry extends far beyond church services, noting that she and her team participate in various events because of their commitment to sharing the gospel with a wider audience.
“We participate in many events because our mission is to reach people and win souls for Christ,” she said.
The gospel musician also disclosed that a non-gospel artiste had once invited her to feature on a song, but the collaboration never happened because she was out of town at the time.
“A secular artiste once reached out to me for a collaboration, but I wasn’t available at the time,” she revealed.
Selina Boateng emphasised that she is open to collaborating with secular artistes, provided the song glorifies God and promotes Christian values.
“I have no problem collaborating with a secular artiste as long as the song glorifies God. If it’s about Christ, I’m fully committed. My aim is to bring people closer to the gospel and to God, not to be drawn away from my faith,” she shared.
Addressing the possibility of working with Shatta Wale, the gospel musician said she is confident a collaboration could serve as an avenue to introduce members of the Shatta Movement to Christian worship.
“I would be open to making a song with Shatta Wale because I believe it could help me reach the Shatta Movement and introduce them to Christian worship,” she noted.
However, she emphasised that she would decline any collaboration that sought to compromise her faith or influence her ministry.
“If Shatta Wale’s intention is to influence me to follow his lifestyle or beliefs, then I would not be part of it because I won’t compromise my faith,” she added.
