Errors in government tracker data are being fixed – Ama Daaku

A communications team member of the New Patriotic Party, Ellen Ama Daaku has assured that the government is taking measures to correct anomalies in the recently launched performance tracker.

According to her, the performance tracker is a living project and as such, mistakes that are being detected would be corrected.

The Tracker, launched on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, seeks to improve transparency and accountability in the completion of infrastructure projects nationwide.

But on Friday, April 12, the government acknowledged the presence of 67 inaccurate entries in the initial project list shown on the tracker at its launch, drawing criticism from the opposition NDC.

In response, Ellen Ama Daaku, noted that the performance tracker will be accommodative enough to receive and correct errors identified.

“It was made known during the launch that the performance tracker is a living project, meaning as and when mistakes are identified, they would be corrected,” she told Oatakyie Afrifa-Mensah on Angel Morning Show, Monday, April 15.

She pointed out that reports that came in after the launch about the inclusion of non-existing projects and the exclusion of projects that have been completed are being corrected. According to her, this is the purpose of the tracker, to be a bridge between the people and the government.

“And that is the intention of the tracker, to act as an interface between the people in the community and the government,” she said.

She cited a situation where she had reports that Atebubu Kwame Danso road has been included in the tracker that it has been constructed whereas that is not true. According to her, this was immediately removed after she drew the attention of authorities. This according to her is the right purpose of the tracker.

“Ghanaians must understand that the tracker was deliberately designed to be interactive and it is not an intention to deceive people,” she added.
