The member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has presented 10 taxis to a group of drivers in his constituency under a “work and pay” concept.
At a presentation ceremony, the MP explained that he was fufilling a campaign promise. He said he facilitated the acquisition of the vehicles to demonstrate his party’s belief in a property owning democracy.
The Deputy Health Minister-Designate asserted that it has been the wish of the NPP government to unleash the energies of citizens to promote private businesses.
He advised the drivers to keep the vehicles in good condition as well as keep to the contract arrangements to enable others to benefit too.
A representative of GPRTU who chaired the function thanked the MP for the fulfillment of his promise and assured him of a good maintenance plan for the cars to serve the people of Akyem Oda.
