Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to admit that things are very tough in Ghana now.

Addressing supporters of the part in Suame in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, the man who lost the flagbearership contest to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia confessed that things are now tough in Ghana.

“Let’s us all admit that things are very tough in Ghana right now…people of Suame Magazine, I know the huge amount you are paying for duty because I also pay some…,” he told the NPP supporters.

The Law Maker’s confession is in line with that of the sentiments expressed by most Ghanaians particularly members of the business community who have complained about the instability of the dollar.

These difficulties notwithstanding, Dr Bawumia said the NPP is still the best party to stabilise the country’s boat and make it the envy of many on the continent.

“Vice President has given me his word and I speak on his behalf that he is aware that duties are expensive.

“So when he comes to power he will take a look at it and ensure it reduces. If you want a party that will bring you development, it is the NPP,” he stated.

He passionately appealed to the crowd, “Our vice-president and the flagbearer for the 2024 election is among us. I implore each of you to dedicate yourselves to ensuring his victory, confident in the knowledge that it will herald a new era of economic prosperity for our country.”
