2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has challenged former President, John Mahama to come forth and defend a single policy he championed when he was Vice President.
Addressing a mammoth rally at Nandom in the Upper West Region, Dr Bawumia said he feels emboldened to challenge John Mahama for a debate because he has championed the successful execution of at least 33 projects as Vice President.
“I as Vice President has championed 33 policies, I ask John Mahama to come forward with one policy he championed as Vice President since he claims he performed better…,” he said.
The Vice President further echoed his challenge to Mahama for a debate on the achievements of each of their governments.
“He should come for a debate mano a mano but he is running away because he fears I will expose the hollowness of his policies…,” he said.
A charged Dr Bawumia further encouraged the gathering to consider him as President as he has more years to execute more policies.
“John Mahama can only be President for four years but by the grace of God, Bawumia can be President for eight years, if we vote for John Mahama, he will be going for honeymoon and we won’t see him again but I would come back to Nandom and account to you…,” he said.
