The Minister for Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said President Nana Akufo-Addo remains committed to solving the infrastructure deficit of the security agencies.

The former Information Minister in an interview on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday said the President, in accordance with this pledge, has provided over 1,000 housing units for the country’s security agencies.

These, he said included 368 homes which were provided to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), 312 homes and the first phase of the 514 homes for the police service in Kwabenya. The addition of 320 new housing units for the Ghana Police Service at Tesano, Accra is the new addition.

“So far the President has provided 1,000 housing units with plans underway to do more for the security agencies. We are waiting for clearance from the Finance Ministry to execute those projects,” he added.

According to the Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency MP, the gesture by the incumbent administration is to improve the living conditions and standards through well-equipped housing units.

He further stated that beyond the infrastructure deficit, the construction of these projects also boosts the economy by providing job opportunities to the youth.
