The Head of Information at the Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations (UN), Frederick Kofi Ameyaw, believes the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a better achiever in terms of delivering its manifesto promises to the people.
He argued that the governing party has been up to the task compared to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking in a panel discussion on Angel TV’s ‘Yen Man Ghana’ on Saturday, August 31, 2024, Mr. Ameyaw, without mincing words, said accountability and honesty are the NPP’s hallmarks under President Akufo-Addo.
“I think in recent times, people are paying attention to manifestos, unlike the past years when people did not. So, if you take a look at recent conversations, Ghanaians are reminding the NPP of the promises they made, especially with regard to the unfulfilled ones.
“Now, when it comes to the fulfillment of manifestos as far as its implementation is concerned, I think that the NPP under President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia government has been extremely transparent and honest with the good people of this country.
“Recalled that the President accounted to Ghanaians what the NPP government has been able to do in terms of promises, and that is why the NPP can say that over 80 percent of our manifesto promises have been implemented, and it doubled down to Dr. Bawumia’s recent press engagement,” he said further.
He added “So when it comes to fulfilling and implementing manifestos, the records are that at least we have done more than 80%.
According to him, that is one thing “the NDC has not been able to do,”
He supported his claim that former President John Mahama had refused to be accountable to Ghanaians before declaring his bid to seek reelection.
