Ghana coach, Otto Addo is set to announce his squad this week for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan in a doubleheader later this month.
Following a disappointing start to their qualifying campaign, Ghana will be looking to bounce back after a narrow 1-0 loss to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium and a 1-1 draw against Niger in Berkane.
Addo is expected to name a strong squad, including key players like Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, as Ghana seeks to boost its qualification hopes.
Currently third in their group with just one point, the Black Stars need a win to improve their standing.
The first match is scheduled for Friday, October 11, against Sudan at home, with the return leg set for Monday, October 14, in Libya at the Martyrs of February Stadium.
However, Ghana’s home venue for the first leg remains uncertain after the Baba Yara Stadium was banned due to its poor pitch conditions.
CAF officials have since inspected the Accra and Cape Coast Stadia as potential alternatives for the match.
Ghana is aiming to secure their fifth AFCON title, and a strong performance in the upcoming qualifiers will be crucial to keeping those hopes alive.
