The company donated an amount of GH¢15,000.00, GH¢2,000.00 airtime, schnapps, soft drinks, and packs of bottled water to the traditional council in support of the festival.

Receiving the items, the Akuapem Traditional Council acknowledged the unwavering support and commitment of MTN Ghana to the Odwira festival every year.

Speaking with pressmen at Akropong after the donation on Thursday, October 10, 2024, Ransford Gyan, the Area Sales Manager of MTN Ghana for Eastern and Volta Regions reiterated the company’s commitment to promoting the rich culture of the country.

He underscored the importance of festivals indicating that festivals help in showcasing Ghanaian heritage, culture, and traditions and promotes togetherness. This, he continued motivated the telecommunication giant to decide to support festivals.

Ransford Gyan mentioned that beyond supporting the Akuapem Odwira Festival annually, most of the Senior and Junior High Schools in the Akuapem enclave have benefited from their educational infrastructure projects.

“We have built a fully equipped ultra-modern robotics centre for Methodist Girls SHS, built a dormitory block for Akropong School for the Blind, built a digital library, and constructed a digitalized borehole water for Aburi Presbyterian Senior High School because water is scarce in the area,” he said.

According to Mr. Gyan, they sought to execute developmental projects which will benefit society as part of its decision to give back to society.
