The Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracle Aboagye, is certain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not win in the Volta region in the 2024 election.

However, Mr Aboagye is confident the NPP’s political fortunes in the region will witness a significant boost.

“The Ghanaian voter today want development and that is why they will vote for NPP. We’re not going to win in Volta region and that one I will be very honest with you but the votes we had in 2020, we will poll three times for Dr Bawumia on December 7,” he said.

He made this remarks on Accra-based Neat FM following the NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s Volta regional tour.

According to him, the NPP’s developmental track record has been impressive and this has won the hearts of electorates in the Volta region.

He said the huge crowd that came out to welcome Dr Bawumia and listen to him speak is a testament of their unwavering support for the NPP.

“There have been a lot of projects in the Volta region. Talk of the Ho town roads which now looks like abroad, the GH₵14 million Ho Central ultramodern market and Hohoe enclave. Recently, South Dayi MP, Rockson Dafeamekpor attested to the development in his constituency and was convinced the people will certainly vote for NPP,” he added.

In the 2020 elections, the NPP obtained 101,084 votes, comprising 14.1% of the total votes.
