The second lady, Samira Bawumia, has refuted the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) claims that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is tribalistic and partial.
According to her, the ruling party is non-discriminatory and inclusive therefore the NDC’s continuous perception is non-factual.
Speaking on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Akosombo, in the Asuogyaman Constituency, as part of her tour of Zongo communities in the Eastern Region, Mrs. Bawumia addressed the accusations from the NDC, who have previously claimed that the NPP does not support Muslims and Zongo communities.
According to her, these misconceptions about the NPP are unfounded, especially given that her husband is now the party’s flagbearer.
She emphasized that the NPP ‘promotes unity and welcomes people from all backgrounds, regardless of tribe and reiterated Dr. Bawumia’s vision for an inclusive society.
She therefore urged all voters to support Bawumia and Pius Enam Hadzide – the Parliamentary Candidate for the Asuogyaman Constituency so they can continue the positive policies of the NPP.
The 2024 NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Asuogyaman, Pius Enam Hadzide, expressed his belief that Dr. Bawumia would be sworn in as president, making him the first Muslim to hold the presidency since 1992.
He called on Ghanaians to support him in realizing this vision come the upcoming December 7, elections.
