Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has announced his intention to pursue full-time farming after retiring from politics.
According to him, if not for his political career, he would have been a full-time farmer, as he feels a deep connection to farming.
Mr. Mahama explained that farming has always been part of his roots and expressed his desire to return to it after leaving the political stage.
“Farming is my life. I love it. I am sure if I hadn’t gone into politics, I would be a full-time farmer. In any case, when I retire after this stint, I will definitely go into full-time farming,” he said.
He jokingly added that after retiring from politics, anyone who wants to meet him will have to visit him on his farms.
“If you want to see me, you’ll have to come here to the farm,” Mahama revealed.
The former president shared these remarks during a visit to his farms in Yapei and Busunu over the weekend.
