Ghana Premier League powerhouse, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has secured the signature of former Nania FC defender, Daniel Adrian Adjetey to beef up their defensive set-up in the ongoing 2024/25 football season.

Adjetey, who joins the Porcupine Warriors with vast experience penned down a one-and-a-half-year contract with the Kumasi-based club.

The inclusion of the right-back to the porcupines family bolster the teams’ defense despite the injury of Emmanuel Kotei recently.

“Asante Kotoko is delighted to announce the signing of 24-year-old right-back Daniel Adrian Adjetey on a one and-a-half-year contract following the successful completion of his medical.

Adjetey brings a wealth of international experience to the Porcupine Warriors, having previously played for Naestved in Denmark’s Division 2 and BFC Daugavpils in the Latvia top flight,” A club statement.

Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum welcomed Adjetey’s addition, stating: “In Daniel, we are not just bringing in a player but someone who brings quality, experience, and competitiveness.

He will not only strengthen our squad but also challenge Lord Amoah for that position, which is key for us moving forward. We’re confident he’ll make an impact both defensively and offensively.”

Adjetey, speaking after his transfer expressed his joy and stated that he is honored to be part of the reds.

“It’s an incredible feeling to join Kotoko. This is one of the biggest clubs in Africa, and I’m honored to be part of it. I’ve had the privilege of playing abroad, but coming back to represent Kotoko feels special. One of the reasons I wanted to play in Ghana again is the exceptional project the club’s management put forward to me.

It’s exciting, and I’m confident this is the right place for me to grow as a player and contribute to something great. I know the expectations here are high, and I’m ready to work hard, compete for my place, and give my all to help the team succeed,” he told the club’s website.

Daniel Adrian Adjetey becomes the third signing for Asante Kotoko in the ongoing January transfer window following the arrival of forwards Isaac Mintah and Sampson Eduku.
