Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare says the decision to commit his future to Accra Hearts of Oak, stemmed from the opportunity they gave him to become who he is today.

According to the Black Stars goalkeeper, the Phobians have been instrumental in his rise to stardom following his switch from city rivals – Accra Great Olympics back in 2024.

Asare, therefore, deemed it thoughtful and appropriate to continue serving Accra Hearts of Oak, hence his two-year contract extension with the club until 2027.

Benjamin Asare signed two-year contract extention

Speaking to the club’s communication department after putting pen to paper, Benjamin Asare expressed his delight for the opportunity offered him at the club and the confidence reposed in him.

“I FEEL REALLY EXCITED TO HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY FOR ONE OF THE BIGGEST CLUBS IN WORLD FOOTBALL. HEARTS OF OAK HAS LIFTED MY IMAGE AND THE ONLY WAY TO Repose THE CONFIDENCE THEY HAVE SHOWN IN ME IS TO EXTEND MY CONTRACT, PLAY MY HEART OUT FOR THE TEAM TO CONTRIBUTE POSITIVELY AND WORK FOR SUCCESS FOR THIS TEAM. I WILL URGE MY TEAMMATES TO REMAIN FOCUSED AND GIVE THEIR ALL TO CONTINUE TO WORK FOR SUCCESS FOR THE TEAM”.

The Executive Board Chairman of the club, Togbe Afede XIV, praised Asare for his positive attitude on and off the pitch, his leadership qualities, and his overall contribution to the team.

He also wished him well and encouraged him “to continue to do exploits for the rest of the season and beyond whilst working for Hearts and the Black Stars.”

Togbe Afede XIV urged Asare’s teammates to emulate his character and work diligently for the success of the Phobians in their bid to return to their glory days.
