A 23-year-old woman, Sandra Danso, tragically lost her life in a fire outbreak at Aboduabo in the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai municipality.

According to eyewitness, Kwaku Acheampong, the fire erupted from a kiosk where the lady was selling petrol in bottles.

He noted that the presence of a cylinder within the kiosk likely made the situation worse, causing the flames to escalate rapidly.

Mr. Acheampong explained that despite the brave efforts of neighbours to extinguish the fire, their attempts proved unsuccessful, ultimately leading to Sandra Danso’s untimely demise.

He recounted the harrowing moments, expressing that they tried to pull her from the flames, but her refusal to cooperate made the rescue effort nearly impossible.

“I’m an electrician in Aboduabo, and when I was on my way to work, I heard people shouting for help. Initially, I thought it was an electrical issue, especially since the lights were out.

“It was petrol and gas that caused her burns. At first, she was still alive; we tried saving her life, but where she was trapped, it was impossible to reach her. We did our best, but we couldn’t save her,” he explained.
