Security Analyst, Adib Saani, has stated that it would be very difficult to determine whether the conflict in Bawku is the result of political or chieftaincy-related issues.

According to him, the matter spinning around the conflict should be carefully dealt with because, it could be related to a random act of criminality, which could be far beyond chieftaincy and political issues.

He, therefore, calls for calm to allow relevant authorities, such as the police and other security forces, to conduct their investigations and ascertain what could be behind the long-standing matter.

Mr. Saani recalled a scenario which occurred about two years ago when the former National Security Minister, Kan-Dapaah together with the then National Security Coordinator, Mr. Asumaning invited him in a meeting explaining a case involving a killing of some individuals in Bawku was as a result of a land matter which centered around some family issues.

“Hon. Kan-Dapaah and Mr. Asumaning found it necessary to explain the case to me because I am a security analyst,” he stated on Angel Midday News on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

He emphasized that, because of the scenario cited, the security forces should be allowed to investigate the matters instigating the conflict.

“The police and other security agencies will help us understand the cause of the conflict if we allow them to do their investigations,” he said.
