Mr. Nkrumah prayed that any greedy person profiting from the Bawku conflict will never escape God's wrath

The Director of Operations of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Divine Nkrumah, has predicted doom for unfazed individuals fueling the long-standing Bawku conflict, which continues to claim lives and destroy property in the area.

He stated, without mincing words, that the greedy individuals profiting from the conflict would not escape God’s wrath.

“Leaders and authorities should wake up from their slumber and act. Again, prominent people from the enclave should keep politics out of the matter and put the area first. But for those behind this conflict, who do not want peace and harmony in the area because of personal gain, may God punish them,” Mr. Nkrumah said.

Expressing further concern over the never-ending conflict, which has become a major security threat, Mr. Nkrumah said posterity would judge everyone according to their actions connected to the crisis.

Considering how the conflict keeps escalating, it has created room for some unscrupulous, unfazed individuals to take advantage of the situation. The Bolga-Bawku stretch is starting to feel like it’s being hijacked by wicked people, due to the persistent robbery attacks on vehicles,” he told Ohemaa Sakyiwaa on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

His passionate comments followed the recent killing and burning of the Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) for the Bongo District, an incident many have linked to the Bawku conflict.

He condemned the incident, describing it as senseless. “What sense does it make to murder him? To me, it doesn’t make any sense,” he stated emphatically.

He further called for a ceasefire and urged all factions to lay down their weapons and allow peace to prevail.

“Let us give peace a chance,” he admonished, while expressing frustration over the continued agitation and refusal of the factions to let go of grudges rooted in disputes dating back to their forefathers even before they were born.
