Kaakyire Kwame Appiah slams government over lack of support for creative industry

Musician and politician, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, has expressed frustration over the lack of support from governments for the music and movie industry.

Speaking on Angel FM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, he highlighted that musicians and actors are suffering due to inadequate support from governments.

“We weren’t given much, but we were given Blanc Levi in cassette form during our time,” he recalled,

He also referred the outdated technology used for music distribution.

“Now, we have pendrives, smartphones, and tablets, but has the government provided anything for us to benefit from these advancements?,” he uttered

Kaakyire Kwame Appiah emphasized the importance of the entertainment industry in contributing to a country’s economy, stating…

“If you go to any country, it’s the entertainment industry that helps every country with money. It helps the country to stand first,” he added
