Ghanaian football power house, Accra Hearts of Oak, would officially break camp, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, ahead of its pre-season preparations.
The decision comes as part of a revised schedule following the club’s withdrawal from the EKO International Tournament in Nigeria.
The club announced on Monday that it had pulled out of the Lagos-based tournament due to its rescheduling, which conflicted with the team’s planned rest and recovery period.
“The team will officially break on Wednesday, July 9, and return later in the month to begin pre-season training ahead of a packed August calendar,” Management said in the statement.
Management emphasized that the break is crucial to ensure the physical and mental well-being of the players ahead of a demanding 2025/26 football season.
During the break, players and technical staff are expected to recuperate before regrouping later in July to resume full preseason training and prepare for a packed August calendar, which includes their participation in key local competitions.
They will feature in the GHALCA Top 4 from August 15 to 19, with additional fixtures such as the Homowo Cup clash with Heart of Lions (date to be confirmed) and the Democracy Cup encounter with Great Olympics on August 28.
The club aims to use these matches to prepare the squad before the new season kicks off.
