The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the reinstatement of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in pre-tertiary institutions nationwide.
According to the Service, the development follows a directive from President John Dramani Mahama.
In a press release dated July 17, 2025, the GES directed all Heads of Public Senior High, Technical, and STEM Schools to implement the reinstatement immediately.
It added that the move aims to enhance collaboration among parents, communities, and educators in the delivery of quality education in the country.
Management of the GES further indicated that guidelines outlining the structure, roles, and financial accountability mechanisms for PTAs will be issued in due course.
“These measures are intended expected to promote transparency, uniformity, and efficiency in the operations of PTAs nationwide,” the statement emphasised.
The GES called on stakeholders to support the policy for effective implementation.
