The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has arrested about 50 Nigerian nationals in a special operation conducted in the early hours of Thursday, July 24, 2025, at McCarthy Hills in the Ga South Municipality.
The operation, according to GIS, was based on intelligence gathered regarding the illegal stay of some foreign nationals in the area.
Some of whom, the GIS stated were trafficked into the country and allegedly forced into cyber fraud by their facilitators.
Among those arrested was the landlord of the apartment where the alleged illegal activities were taking place.
In a statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Immigration, M. Amoako-Atta, Head of Public Affairs, the Service assured the public of an updated in due course of the outcome of the operations and subsequent investigations.
