The Black Queens of Ghana have returned home after a successful 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament in Morocco.
The Ghana senior female team return to the Caf top competition for the first time since 2018 and finished with a bronze medal after defeating South Africa 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
The team was welcomed by Sports Minister Kofi Adams and the Executive Council members lead by GFA president Kurt Okraku at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) with numerous diehard supporters and the media.
Black Queens will hope to build on their impressive performance at the WAFCON when they host Egypt in October for the WAFCON 2025 qualifies.
