Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has declared that the party’s path to rebuilding and electoral victory lies in the hands of a leader with integrity, clarity, and compassion.
He made this statement on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, when he officially declared his intention to contest in the NPP’s presidential primaries slated for January 31, 2026.
He stated, “We cannot continue to do the same things and expect different results. We need a pair of clean hands, a clear mind, compassionate heart to lead our nation and our party.”
“With me, the NPP has a clear path to unity and victory. I stand ready to work with, ready to unite our ranks, ready to rebuild, and ready to restore hope for our party and every Ghanaian,” he added.
In his address, Ing. Agyepong emphasized the urgent need for a leadership renewal rooted in the founding values of the party. He pledged to restore the NPP’s legacy as a platform for decent and purposeful political engagement.
“Let’s make the NPP once again the proud tradition that is for decent people to join politics under the banner of development in freedom. The time for renewal is now, time for hope is now, time for KAA is now. Ghana has to be engineered into prosperity,” he stated.
His declaration adds to the growing list of contenders seeking to lead the party into the 2028 general elections, as the NPP opens nominations for the internal presidential race.
