The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it is devastated by the tragic death of eight individuals who perished in a military helicopter crash.
The party expressed sorrow and grief over the incident, describing it as a painful loss to both the families involved and the entire nation.
“The New Patriotic Party is reeling with sorrow and grief following the tragic crash of a military helicopter that claimed the lives of all eight persons onboard,” the party said in a statement read signed by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.
The NPP noted that the passing of the victims was not only a devastating blow to their families but also a profound national loss.
“Their passing is not only a devastating blow to their families but also a profound loss to the entire nation they worked to protect and build.”
The party extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for divine comfort.
“We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. No words can truly capture the anguish of this moment. We pray that the Almighty God grants them comfort and strength during this excruciatingly difficult period.”
The statement called for a thorough, transparent, and swift investigation into the cause of the crash to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again.
The party further urged national unity during this time of mourning.
“In this time of grief, we call on all Ghanaians to come together in unity, prayer, and compassion. Let us stand with the families left behind. Let us console and strengthen one another.”
