The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Nurein Shaibu Migyimah, has extended support to 2,000 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates in his constituency as they prepare to enter Senior High School (SHS).
During the event, each student received essential educational items, including mattresses, trunks, school bags, books, and cash donations to ease the financial burden that often prevents many from continuing their education.

Speaking to the media, Hon. Nurein explained that the event forms part of his broader commitment to improving education in the Assin Central Constituency.
“These children we value them so because of that we will invest in education in order to help our children to also attend school.

“Sometimes, some of the children, when they complete Junior High School (JHS), do not have trunks and choke boxes, which hinders them from furthering their education.
“And this touches my heart to support these children with their choke boxes, trunks, Milo, sugar, gari, and mattresses to help improve education in Assin Central.

“And this will help most of our children to also further their education to high school level to help education in Assin Central to improve,” he stated.
The Municipal Education Director for Assin Fosu, Mr. Robert Briggas Awoonor Williams, commended the MP’s consistent dedication to education.

He noted that the donated items often represent a heavy cost for parents, and this intervention will not only reduce that burden but also encourage more students to remain in school.
