The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced the suspension of all roadside fines issued by its Compliance Team, effective Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
The directive, issued in a notice dated October 14, 2025, states that the suspension will remain in force until further notice.
According to the DVLA, the compliance enforcement move is intended to reduce regulatory compliance burdens while ensuring that vehicles and drivers continue to meet legal requirements.
“However, the Authority, upon further consultation and feedback from the public, announces the suspension of this activity in order to allow for an extended engagement on the matter before reintroducing the compliance team on our roads,” the statement added.
The Authority emphasized that road safety remains a priority and urged all motorists to adhere to the necessary standards.
The DVLA further indicated that it will continue to monitor the situation and may reinstate the Compliance Team if deemed necessary.
