The Environmental Service Providers Association (ESPA) has announced the suspension of its planned nationwide strike, following talks with the government.
In a press statement signed by Executive Secretary Ama Ofori Antwi on Friday, November 7,2025, ESPA revealed that Minister for Local Government and Religious Affairs, brahim Ahmed initiated dialogue to address outstanding payment challenges facing its members.

The government has assured ESPA of its commitment to settle arrears owed to service providers promptly.
ESPA has urged its members to maintain normal operations, appreciating their patience and cooperation amid difficulties.
The association affirmed its commitment to protecting members’ interests and ensuring Ghana’s waste management infrastructure functions efficiently.
ESPA encourages members to remain calm and united as negotiations continue.
