Ghanaian music sensation, Black Sherif, has revealed a heartwarming connection between himself and the legendary highlife musician, Nana Amakye Dede.
According to Black Sherif, his recent visit to pay homage to the veteran singer led to the surprising discovery that Amakye Dede has been a family friend for generations.
Speaking in an interview, the Second Sermon hitmaker shared,
“Nana Amakye Dede is from my generation and my grandfather, who I was named after, was very close to Amakye Dede. They are very close like a family friend,” he said.
He further explained that he only got to know about this bond during his visit.
“I didn’t know until I went to visit and I found out he’s a family friend from generations ago,” he added.
Black Sherif also hinted at the possibility of collaborating with the legendary musician in the near future.
“To be honest, I thought of putting Amakye Dede into my songs, but it just didn’t manifest in getting it out. I did think about it and it will happen, definitely. Love to show that to tell,” he shared.
