Ghanaian singer Cojo Rae has revealed the emotional inspiration behind his popular song “Aketesia,” saying it was written during a time when he was deeply in love.
During an interview on Y’adumanie on Angel FM, the young artiste disclosed that “Aketesia” was created long before he officially started releasing his records, and the song holds a special place in his heart because of the emotions that fuelled it.
“Aketesia was a song I wrote almost a year before my records. At that time, I was really in love, that was when I recorded it,” he said.
According to him, the melody and lyrics flowed naturally once the instrumental began, capturing exactly how he felt at that point in his life.
Cojo Rae further explained how his producer played a key role in bringing the song to life.
“My producer used to pressure me to come around, so one day when I finally went, he started playing the progression, and the song just started ringing in my head,” he recounted.
He noted that the feedback from listeners has been overwhelmingly positive, and he feels grateful that people connect with the emotions behind his music.
